“Main reasons are;
Singlegate primary school is in extremely close proximity and kids will be distrusted and stress do to noise element
Also these building are not compatible with local area”

“There are too many tower blocks already, this will be an eye sore, and concerned that the, local traffic, tube, and parking areas, are already overused. Would prefer open space to make colliers wood nicer place.”

“These towers should not be permitted. Why would any development which is only 15% affordable ever be permitted.”

“I am a new local resident, I have just moved into 10 Wandle Bank, which is one of the Georgian cottages around the corner from this proposed development. I like the existing tower, I htink it looks nice and is just enough for the local area. I would not want to see another two (or even one) towers on this site for seversal reasons. First, and perhaps most importantly, it would represent an incredibly densly populated piece of land with subsequent impacts on travel (parking will be a disaster), traffic, and air pollution. That traffic will clog up the surrounding streets and lead to greater noise pollution on quiet streets like mine, as traffic divert to find alternative routes. The implanting of thousands of new families will have an immediate, significant impact on local public services: school places, NHS services, policing and youth services. I do not see any information from the council that provides answers to these concerns. Then there is the issue of aesthetics, nature and local culture. The imposition of two additional towers, one 26 storeys high, will be ugly and a vast blot on the landscape. It is also out of kilter with the heritage of the location, with peaceful winding walks, our beatutiful River Wandle and quiet residential streets.

I am not against regeneration and investment - it is much needed, particularly on the South Wimbledon side and further up towards Tooting Broadway. But this tiny island of space is not the right location - and it is simply too big. It will provide new homes - and that is of course important. But it will have a long-term negative impact on the immediate vicinity.

Yours faithfully,

George Stothard”

“Terrible plan for Colliers Wood!”

“The proposed further development of these towers would detract from the local environment rather than enhance the site. The towers are far too tall and lack the provision of affordable housing the neighbourhood needs. I don't see these two very tall towers are what the local community needs or wants”

“The planned development for more Canary Wharf style tower blocks on Britannia Point is completely unacceptable and out-of-keeping with the local area. It is clear the knock-on impact has not been properly thought through with the impact on the existing community resources and local area.”

“I think that they are too tall and would make the area ugly. Not what Colliers Wood needs.”

“The infrastructure is already at capacity. So many accommodation units added since I moved there”

“I live opposite the tower and it will block out the majority of my afternoon sunlight. Not to mention all residents occupying the southern face of the tower. They won't get any natural light at all! Plus the area is already struggling to cope with the increased use of local services from the other flats that have been built in the area”
