Enforced traffic management in Dobbs Weir

When the bridge in Broxbourne closes for repair all the traffic that uses that road will inevitably use Dobbs Weir as a cut through. This will involve hundreds more movements a day from cars and HGVs. The legal 7.5 ton TRO weight limit in place is already breached by HGV users who use Dobbs Weir as a quicker route to the M11/A10/M25. This will be multiplied on a huge scale when the bridge closes. We are demanding traffic management collectively from Network Rail, Murphys, Essex and Hertfordshire Council as follows to protect the safety and rights of our residents and other road users.
1. Constant enforcement of the legal TRO weight limit for HGVs
2. Cross hatching at the end of each road
3. Temporary traffic lights set further back from the bridge.
Although it will still be very busy, these 3 things are essential to allow for traffic to flow. and ensure that our residents safety is not compromised.
