Who is paying for Prince Andrew's settlement?

The British public have a right to know if we are paying for Prince Andrew's settlement with Virginia Giuffre. Are we paying to keep Andrew out of the courtroom?

Most of the money the Royal Family have comes from the taxpayer, and Prince Andrew has a limited income of his own. We pay the Queen £20m a year from the profits of the Duchy of Lancaster, a property portfolio owned
by the state. That's in addition to the official funding of the monarchy.

It is from these funds that we are now paying to bail Prince Andrew out of a court appearance and allowing him to avoid answering serious accusations.

So we are calling on the government to ensure that the settlement is not being funded by royal funds that ultimately come from the public purse.
